Hi, I’m Karen. I could move on but I have to linger on my name.

You see, one time in LAX airport a lady checking documents literally LOLed looking at my passport. 😂 She then restrained herself and told me her name was Ashley which can also be a guy’s name. We both laughed.

Honestly, I don’t care. Neither do you, I guess. But just in case you wondered, yes, it’s a popular Armenian name for a man. And no, I don’t want to talk to your supervisor (yet).

With that out of the way.

I live in Belgrade in a wonderful country of Serbia with my beautiful wife and our 2 amazing daughters.

My job is a software engineer (formally, the title is senior software engineer) and I became one at age 30.

Previously I’ve made a career in finance, then quit it to build a stagnating online business, then helped a SaaS startup with content marketing, and then taught people basics of programming at an online bootcamp.

Oh, and I have a degree in aerospace engineering.
